Happy Canada Flag Day!
On February 15, 1965, Canada proudly raised its iconic red and white maple leaf flag for the first time. This symbol of unity, freedom, and identity has since become one of the most recognized flags in the world. Did you know? The flag was chosen after a nationwide debate, with over 3,500 designs submitted. Its red and white colours were declared Canada’s national colours by King George V in 1921. The first official flag-raising took place on Parliament Hill in Ottawa. We will celebrate Canada Flag Day as a reminder of our country’s history, values, and the pride we share as Canadians. Let’s honour our flag and what it represents! What does the Canadian flag mean to you?
