Celebrating International Children’s Book Day!

Every April 2nd, we celebrate the joy of reading and honour the incredible authors who bring stories to life for children around the world. This special day was established in 1967 to inspire a love of books in young readers and commemorate the birth of Hans Christian Andersen, the legendary author behind fairy tales like The Little Mermaid, The Ugly Duckling, and The Emperor’s New Clothes! 
Children’s books do more than entertain—they help little ones explore new ideas, develop language skills, and build lifelong imaginations. Reading together is a gift that nurtures curiosity and strengthens family bonds. 

​How Can You Celebrate? Read your favorite childhood book with a little one.
- Create a drawing inspired by a story you love.
- Visit the library and discover a new book.
- Write a short story or poem together!
