“Discover Samhain – The Celtic Roots of Halloween”
Samhain (pronounced sow-in) is an ancient Celtic festival that marks the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter. It was celebrated over 2,000 years ago in Ireland, Scotland, and other Celtic lands. People believed that during this time, the world of the living and the spirit world were closer together, and they lit bonfires to keep away bad spirits and welcome good ones.
